Sedation Dentistry

Dental anxiety is real — and optional. Comfortable, monitored sedation for implant surgery and beyond.

Comfort Is Part of the Treatment Plan

Nitrous oxide — sometimes called laughing gas — is a safe, effective sedation agent inhaled through a small mask over your nose. Mixed with oxygen, it takes effect within minutes: some patients feel light-headed or notice a pleasant heaviness in their arms and legs, but ultimately you feel comfortable and calm. The effects wear off quickly once the mask is removed — most patients drive themselves home.

Conscious oral sedation keeps you awake but deeply relaxed — for many fearful patients it removes the anxiety entirely. The doctor combines oral sedation with local anesthetic so you feel little to no discomfort. Plan to have someone bring you to the appointment and drive you home afterward.

Every surgical patient gets a comfort plan — numbing technique, sedation level, quiet recovery — decided with you in advance.

Questions Patients Ask Us

What sedation options are available?

Nitrous oxide (laughing gas) for light relaxation that wears off before you drive home, and oral conscious sedation for deeper calm during longer procedures. We’ll recommend the right level for your anxiety, health history, and the procedure planned.

Is sedation dentistry safe?

With proper screening and monitoring, sedation dentistry has an excellent safety record. We review your medical history and medications beforehand and monitor you throughout the visit.

Will I remember the procedure?

With nitrous oxide, yes — you’re relaxed but fully aware. With oral sedation, most patients remember little of the appointment, which is exactly why anxious patients choose it.
