Why would I need a sinus lift?
The upper back jaw sits directly under your sinus cavities, and bone there is often too shallow for an implant after tooth loss. A sinus lift gently raises the sinus membrane and adds bone beneath it, creating the height an implant needs.
Is a sinus lift painful?
It’s performed under local anesthesia with sedation available. Expect stuffiness, mild swelling, and precautions like avoiding forceful nose-blowing for a couple of weeks — most patients rate the discomfort as mild.
How long is the healing time?
The grafted area typically matures for 4–9 months before implants are placed, though some cases allow simultaneous placement. Your CBCT scan sets the plan.
